Born New Mills in Derby in 1881 but lived Moss Side in Manchester
Died of wounds 10th May 1918 and buried in Etaples
Unusually it states he died from gas shell, so that must have been a excruciating death drowning in fluid in lungs or blister burns
He left a widow Ellen Riddich whom he married in 1905
Lots of research potential as names and addresses available
164th Siege Battery, RGA, was raised from the Humber Garrison on 23 May 1916 and disembarked in France on 4 September 1916
