WWI BRITISH WAR, VICTORY, DELHI DURBAR 1911 MEDALS HOGG, DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY

This is a very nice trio of a British War Medal, Victory Medal, and Delhi Durbar medal to :
9642 PTE. W. HOGG. DURH. L. I.
The Delhi Durbar is engraved naming with the same and the addition of
1st D.L.I. DELHI 1911.
The British War Medal is a name erased replacement. It is a bit smaller, probably due to the erasure. The Delhi Durbar Medal has several minor edge knocks, and the obverse is off-struck, as can be seen in the photos. That is rather unusual, but the medal is absolutely proper and original. Hogg served with the 1st Battalion, which was in India for almost all of the War, seeing action on the Northwest Frontier. Some of the men were sent to serve in East Africa, and later Mesopotamia, and it is likely that Hogg was one of them. Ribbons on the BWM and Victory are modern. The ribbon on the Delhi Durbar is original.
