    William Frederick Griffiths
    Griffiths was born on June 26, 1883, in Bridgwater, Somerset, England to Father Benjamin Griffiths (1857-1928) and Mother Emma Brooks (1856-). Griffith’s Father was a maritime Pilot, and his mother was a homemaker. He was described as 5’3” tall with grey eyes and brown hair. Griffiths was one of 4 siblings (2 boys and 2 girls). Griffiths is listed in the 1911 Census as a Bootmaker.
    Griffiths enlisted in the Royal Marines on May 2, 1918. After training it looks as though he transferred to an Anti-Aircraft Battery on October 15, 1918, through his demobilization on February 24, 1919.
    Griffiths married Edith Amelia Gillingham (1883-1966) on August 20, 1908, in Somerset, England. They had one daughter also named Edith (1909-1984). The 1939 Census lists Griffith as a Boot & Shoe Dealer with his daughter working as his shop assistant. Griffiths passed away In December of 1968 in Somerset, England.
