    William Henry Parker was born at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, on 5 March 1886 and commenced his naval service as a Boy Second Class in H.M.S. Caledonia, on 9 July 1902. He served aboard HMS Hibernia from Jan 1912 to Nov 1916, so would of been present at the later stages of the Gallipoli Campaign.
    Advanced Petty Officer aboard Hibernia, he was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in March 1919, and was shore demobilized from H.M.S. Vulcan (Alecto) on 23 July 1919.
