Clasp confirmed on medal card.
Killed In Action 31/10/1915 with the 1st Battalion.
With research from "The Courier" march 22, 1913 showing Scoutmaster Alexander J. Lamont of Carnoustie was awarded a cerificate of Bravery from the Boy Scouts as well as a Royal Humane Society Bronze Medal for his part in plunging into the sea at the Firth of Tay along with Alexander Simpson to rescue the crew of a Dutch schooner "Aeffiena" which ran ashore in a gale. Alexander was born in Dundee, Forfarshire, Scotland circa 1893. With copies of Medal rolls, MIC and CWGC. Alexander Lamont is commemorated on the Loos Memorial.
