    Description

    Wollastonite fluorescent mineral Sterling Hill Mine, near Franklin, NJ.  A large hand-sized specimen, wollastonite in calcite, with grains of diopside.  Fluoresces bright orange-yellow, and red in shortwave UV light.  Note the face of brighter-red calcite “coating” the specimen.


    Cabinet specimen, measures 5 3/4 inches x 4 1/4 x 3 3/4 inches, and weighs 3 pounds 8 ounces.
