Vintage Counter Multi-Counter Company Branford Conn. Transportation Counter RARE

Up for consideration is a 5 digit tally counter from The Multi-Counter Company out of N Branford, Connecticut. It is older. I have no idea of the year (possible 40s or 50s?) and is heavy, not aluminum. Probably some sort of steel. As seen in the pictures, it does show wear.
it was obtained at an estate sale and I really don't know much about it. If you are reading this, you know more than me.
