You are bidding on probably the finest Knifewing necklace much less one of the
finest pieces of antique Zuni silver and turquoise jewelry extant.
This wonderful piece made by Tom Weahkee was made at the shop of the now defunct trading post from which we purchased it 30 years ago.
It is not to be confused with the work of Teddy Weahkee.
At one time, this was a manta pin...the chain necklace is unique in design and the signature design, as other style elements, of the trader's shop from whom it was purchased.
The trader's pawn/I.D. mark is etched on the back by the trader.
The Knifewing measures 4 1/2 inches x 5 inches.
Turquoise is most probably old Globe.
Excellent vintage condition.
