Diameter: 36mm. Type III.  Obverse: Crowned, veiled, and draped bust left;
Reverse: Britannia standing right, with back facing, holding banner and wreath; battle scene in background.
Edge: 23193 BOMB: J.F. SMITH, 7TH BTY. R.F.A. Loop, tricolored ribbon, and six clasps attached indicating campaigns: Laing's Nek, Transvaal, Relief of Ladysmith, Orange Free State, Tugela Heights, and Cape Colony. Lightly toned, with some hints of russet near the peripheries and a good deal of brilliance remaining.
