Raw Organic Slivered Almonds cut into tiny slivers by using a specialized machine. The nuts are blanched to remove their bitter skins before cutting. Furthermore, they need to be heated up to about 160F, which is necessary to make almonds pliable, so they don’t break when cut.
But note that this type of processing doesn’t affect the nutritional value of almonds by much. Therefore, organic slivered almonds are as good an addition to your meals as whole nuts.
How to Eat Organic Blanched Slivered Almonds
Organic slivered almonds make a great snack anytime you need a power boost. They also go well with morning granola or oatmeal. Because of the handy shape, these almonds are easy to use in salads and even dishes like curry.
You can eat raw organic slivered almonds just as they come from Food To Live. However, if you want to enhance the flavor and aroma, you should toast them in the oven for about 3-5 minutes.
Heat the oven to 350F.
In the meantime, spread almond slivers in a thin layer over a baking pan covered with waxed paper.
Let your organic slivered almonds toast for 3 minutes at first. Remove the pan and stir the nut slivers well. Put them back into the oven for a couple of minutes. Observe them to prevent burning.
