    Fluorescent Mineral Sales MinerShop
Very Large Willemite, Calcite and Other Unknowns
    Puttapa Mine, Australia
    4” x 3" x 2 1/2”, 1 lb 15.7 oz
Wonderful patterning and mixed hues, strong phosphorescence from Puttapa Mine, Australia.
Puttapa has been picked over with a fine-tooth comb. There have been several trips to the mine to extract every little scrap left, first-run pieces have sold (except for these) and much of the leftover material has been wholesaled out to numerous sellers.
The only minerals we are pretty confident of are the willemite and calcite - there may be much more. The white mineral has been assayed to be willemite with a very high zinc content. Special note: The phosphorescent pic was taken with zero lights - glows like a banshee. (Our rule of thumb on these pieces is that anything that phosphoresces is willemite, aragonite being the possible exception).

A personal note from Mark Cole, MinerShop
"As many of my followers have noticed, I (Mark) have retired from active sales. My daughter, Valerie, has joined the MinerShop crew and will be taking over our sales. She has assumed my large inventory of Greenland and other world-wide minerals, has learned to take the same great photos you've come to expect, and will offer the same great service you've gotten used to. She grew up around these minerals and, thankfully, got the glow-bug herself at a young age. A father's dream to have one of his children appreciate our hobby, insuring a home for his lifetime's passion. Please support her in this transition, and be assured I'm behind her every step of the way."
