Large Fluorescent Sphalerite, Ogdensburg, NJ #40

Description

A large sphalerite specimen with willemite and franklinite. The sphalerite fluoresces best under longwave UV, pink and blue. Photo #5 is shortwave the rest are longwave. The franklinite is non-fluorescent and the willemite is green under both longwave and shortwave. The calcite fluoresces a pale blue under longwave.
Collected at the Sterling Hill Mine in Ogdensburg, NJ. Size: 7" x 3-1/2" x 1-1/4". Weight is 2 lbs. 9 oz.  or 1150 grams.
You must have a 365nm longwave UV lamp or a 254nm shortwave UV lamp to properly view the fluorescent response of this specimen.
I always combine shipping whenever possible. I carefully pad and pack each item securely in a cardboard mailing box. I do not offer a gift box or gift wrapping.
