Kraisslite on Willemite, Sterling Hill Mine, Ogdensburg, NJ

Description

A small cabinet specimen of a willemite/franklinite matrix with thin coatings of the rare mica group mineral, kraisslite. The kraisslite is a brassy/copper colored mineral and there is a coating on two sides of the specimen. Photos 1, 2 & 8 are under white fluorescent lighting. Photos 3 & 4 are under shortwave UV and photos 5,6 & 7 are under direct sunlight. Collected at the Sterling Hill Mine in Ogdensburg, NJ. Size is 3" x 1-1/2" x 1-1/4". Weight is 9 oz. or 266 grams.
