Description
Up for bid is a beautiful cluster of three "Root Beer" Fluorite crystals from the Edward Kraemer & Sons Quarry (AKA White Rock Quarry) in Clay Center, Ohio. The largest crystal is about 1” square. The Fluorite fluoresces White in zones around the edges and Tan in the core. The coloring is subtly different under SW UV (First Picture) and LW UV (second Picture). The Fluorite is also phosphorescent. Under White Light the specimen has a Brown color very similar to that of Root Beer (Third Picture) hence the nickname “Root Beer Fluorite”. This would make a great daylight crystal specimen as well.
The last major find of this "Root Beer" Fluorite was in 2008 and the material sold out fairly quickly. I got this piece out of an old collection.
