HOT PINK COBALTOAN CALCITE: BOU AZER, TAZENAKHT, OUARZAZATE, MOROCCO - NR!

Description

An aesthetic, unmounted small miniature sized example composed of hot pink colored
cobaltoan calcite crystals covering the top of a white and gray matrix with the cobaltoan calcite crystals having high luster, nice transparency-translucency, and beautiful lavender-pink color.  The crystals are quite nice and they reach 8 mm in maximum diameter.  I got this in a group of pieces from a Moroccan dealer friend back in 2018 and it comes from the mines of
the Bou Azzer area, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province, Draa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
(I don't know the actual mine but its gotta be either the Agoudal or the Aghbar mine)

The specimen measures 3.2 x 2.8 x 2.3 cm in size, weighs 18.9 grams, and it comes professionally labeled and ready for immediate display.  The cobaltoan calcite crystals
are bright lavender pink in color under regular light, and
are brightly FLUORESCENT, glowing a wonderful neon-orange under shortwave ultraviolet light as depicted in the last two photos that were taken under a 26 watt shortwave UV lamp.  Cobaltoan calcite is a highly desired collector's mineral due to its often fantastic pink to lavender color, a result of cobalt replacing and being included in the calcite during the formation of the crystals.
