Extra Large Fluorescent Wispy Willemite, Sphalerite & Zincite, Ogdensburg, NJ

Description

A very large plate  of calcite matrix with willemite, sphalerite, zincite and franklinite. The willemite forms an odd wispy pattern in shortwave. This specimen has the unique quality of being attractive in daylight as well as both wavelengths of UV. The sphalerite fluoresces best longwave and the willemite fluoresces best under shortwave UV. I'm not sure about the blue fluorescence, it might just be a reflection of the light. Size: 8-1/2" x 4" x 1". Weight is 2 lbs. 12 oz. or 1242 grams.
