Rich specimen of
Diopside (SW/UV blue) on non-fluoresent Calcite.  This piece is highly unusual as most of the Long Lake specimens show Diopside as scattered dots, often creating the star-like effect.
Long Lake minerals are known for their beautiful pastel colors, bright "Lightning Bolts" and spectacular starry night "Galaxy" patterns.
From the Long Lake Zinc Mine, Parham, Olden Township, Frontenac County, Ontario, Canada.
Cabinet sized specimen - 3.0 X 2.0 X 1.9 inches

Must be viewed with a short wave ( 254 nm ) ultraviolet lamp.
Pictures taken with a 12 MP camera and a 9 watt Way Too Cool short wave UV lamp.
