For your consideration: an old classic Third Phase concho belt. The belt features five oval conchos and five butterfly conchos. Each concho has a lovely turquoise cabochon within a bezel setting. The belt was made by a very skilled silversmith as the oval conchos feature deep repousse work without any thin spots. While provenance is impossible to determine on a piece this old without a hallmark, it is almost certainly Navajo made. The concho belt has new leather, as the old leather belt was completely worn and patched, which leads me to believe that the belt has some age. The belt buckle is heavy sandcast with a turquoise cab within a sawtooth bezel. This may suggest that the buckle was not part of the original belt. The oval conchos are 3” x 3¾”; the butterfly conchos are 3” x 1½”; and the buckle is 2¼” x 2⅝”. Overally, the belt weighs 547.2 grams (including leather). The belt measures 43” in length.
