    Description

    Length: 56”
    Width: 4.25”
A visually-arresting Disco-era necktie featuring a black geometric motif on off-white. 100% silk, made by Cerruti CXIII, dated 1974 on tag. Excellent vintage condition, very faint mark approx. 7” from tip, otherwise pristine.
The designer, Leo E. Cerruti (1905-1997), was a larger-than-life figure in luxury apparel for the better part of a century. His entrée into the industry began during high school as a jacquard designer for a textile mill, and by age 21 he was the highest-paid textile technician in the country. Bolstered from the support of none other than Countess Mara herself, he eventually found success as a businessman and designer, whose fashion lines regularly played with novelty silk prints and exaggerated masculine silhouettes.
