Description
Welcome!WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT IT: An exceptional early Navajo bracelet, dating to the 1930s, with uniquely spectacular stamp work which is beautifully integrated. There is a foundation of three chisel split wires and a stunning centrally set Blue Gem mine turquoise stone which is framed in both round twisted wire and flat twisted wire and the most elegant and delicate stamp work which includes sawtooth stamping and radiating rays among other refined stamping, which is matched at the terminals. The hand stamping on the sides is equally fabulous and rare. This bracelet is all hand constructed from ingot and is just superb.
CONDITION: excellent vintage wearable and collectible.
MEASUREMENTS:
• internal length silver alone 5-1/2", gap 1", total 6-1/2"
• width 1-1/4" center, tapering to 1/2" at the terminals
• turquoise, natural Blue Gem mine, measures 1" x 3/4"
• weight 27.3 grams
• unmarked for metal content which is usual for those times but guaranteed to be at least coin at .800 or sterling at .925
• unsigned by the artist which is usual for those times but it's Navajo work dating to at least the 1930s
SUMMARY: This piece is highly collectible as a very fine all hand made early bracelet with excellent detail work and gorgeous turquoise. It's a top notch collector's piece given the age and quality of work. It has a refinement and elegance we rarely see in any, not to mention in the very early pieces.

Attributions on many of the old pieces of Native American jewelry are sometimes a moving target. All the books have errors, so in addition to counterchecking, I have developed some expertise over the years and I do care about getting it right, so as more information comes to light I update my listings and also get in touch with my previous buyers, to inform them of any changes in attributions. I am sincerely committed to ongoing accuracy.
