Antique / Vintage Compote Exquisite Teal Blue (Solid-NOT FLASHED)Glass Bowl Encased In Silverplate!
I cannot tell you how excited I am over finding this bowl. It is absolutely extraordinary. I found this at an old estate sale, it was in behind a bunch of books in a back room. It was completely black. I could tell it was glass, but figured clear from the aged dust and dirt. Look at it now !!
I have researched this bowl for WEEKS. I can only guess at it’s age based on the owners of the home telling me it was one on many OLD pieces laying around. I have only found one like it on line, sold in the United Kingdom. They also had no solid information about it. It is not branded, I can’t find any markings. Measures about 9 inches across, apx 6 inches tall. Age appropriate wear, refer to photos. GORGEOUS. No cracks or breaks. I polished from the outside but didn’t take it apart. The butterflies connect the sections, it looks like one may be soldered or glued or just stuck due to age. I didn’t force anything.
I will DEFINITELY keep and display this one if it doesn’t sell. It is an absolute BEAUTY.
